seems as if monkey makes some big strides after visits with family. always happens. his first gutteral bursts of laughter, rolling over and crawling have all happened soon after or while spending time with eemoe's. he's been tucking his knees under his tummy and weightbearing on his hands for awhile now. but with eemoes' persistent encouragement, he slithered around the entire weekend! he's still learning to master this new skill... but thanks to my sisters, life in our household is being redefined. by plastic gates, safety knobs on doors, soon-to-be-taped-off danger zones, wall socket thingies and more. thanks a lot bb and eemsie. it's amazing though. this child that i once worried might have had some bleeding into his brain (thus, possible neurologic/developmental problems), is meeting all his milestones without any issues. praise the Lord and hail tummy time! he even chewed off and ate little bits of rice cake this morning! he sloshed those things around with his little tongue like a fat kid eating sausages. his puckery little lips danced around. it was precious. so blessed. so blessed.

my DOB and my little man!
we are back to the daily grind in the bae household. daily grind in the most bestest way though. :) last week was my **th birthday and hubby allowed me to spend 4-days, non-stop relaxed. it was wonderful and much needed. he stayed home from work thurs & fri, baking me cake, changing diapers, playing airplane with monkey, letting me eat portabella shroom sandwiches galore, letting me shop and trekking to random places to pick out fresh, organic goodies. icing on the cake was having my sisters here over the weekend. they drove all the way up and down to see me (ok fine... to see monkey). i'll take whatever seester time i can get. :) we did a whole lot of nothing but eat and shop and it was perfect. oh, and sam and i both got a nice break having them here to entertain our little guy. we even got to go out for an hour and half ALONE, for the first time since he was born (7.5 months ago)! for our date, we toured some insanely beautiful, charming homes in our neighborhood with free tickets given to us by our next door neighbor. one of the homes we saw had a kitchen featured in sunset magazine! i died. thank goodness for posh neighbors. :)
